This is just a
small idea I came up with yesterday. The blighted creatures are
nothing but trouble for the locals, so shouldn't the authorities
(the Temple) promote the act of killing these? But for this task of
public service, the player gets just the random ingredients in
return. What if the temple gave a few septims for each blighted
creature killed - say, 2 for each blighted rat and 5 for each
blighted kagouti, 10 for an ash ghoul.
What do you think? Has
anyone implemented the bounties before this? (Actually, I'm already
begun making this mod for myself, but I just wonder if someone else
might want this.)

The latter:
I've added small number of NPCs in a number of places around
Vvardenfell (Maar Gan, Ghostgate, Molag Mar), and when you talk to
them, they'll pay for the creatures you've killed. Of course, you
won't get paid for each creature more than once.
I believe
the scripting side is now done, I'll just have to write up some
short pieces of dialogue. I'm also in need of beta testers,
especially those who have passive healthy wildlife mods or such.
Edit: the beta1 is now available at the mod homepage . Feedback is welcome.
Edit2:
These are the creatures with the bounty on them and the fee the
player gets for killing them:
Ascended Sleeper, 20 Ash
Ghoul, 14 Ash Slave, 12 Ash Zombie, 12 Blighted Alit, 5
Blighted Cliff Racer, 6 Blighted Kagouti, 5 blighted
Kwama Forager, 2 blighted Kwama Warrior, 6 blighted Kwama
Worker, 6 Blighted Nix-Hound, 5 Blighted Rats, 2
Blighted Scribs, 1 Blighted Shalks, 3 Lame Corprus, 17
Corprus Stalker, 17
Do you think these prices are
correct or should be increased/changed somewhat? The character with
whom I had played through main quest and tribunal earned 1953 drakes
for what she'd done in the course of the game.

Direct link to
Blight Bounties Beta 2.
The rewards are
now almost tenfold, you can see them at the mod
homepages. I hope this will be of use to at least some hunter
out there, struggling to have the ends meet by picking every single
herb and whatnot s/he comes across.
Should some other
creature be covered within this bounty system? Are the prices now
correct? If you ask me, I'd say "yes" to both - but I don't have a
low-level character to try the balance of this mod.

I love this
idea.
How are you detecting which Blighted creature the
player has killed? Global script? Items taken from the corpse of the
creature? It would be nice if you needed to remove some part of the
creature in order to get the reward. Perhaps then you could increase
the value of the award given while it remains balanced through
carryable weight. Mayhap the creatures carry new ingredients that
can be sold respectively but if given to these certain NPCs you will
be rewarded slightly more.
It's a wonderful idea. Great for
roleplaying a profession.

Thank you for
your interest
This mod doesn't have any constantly running scripts. I've
used just the GetDeadCount function - I have global variables that
track the number of kills player has been rewarded already, and the
difference of these two is the number of creatures the player hasn't
been rewarded yet. This way I didn't have to tinker with the
creatures themselves, so I believe this should sit rather well with
other wildlife mods. Another thing, because of this, the kills are
accumulated throughout the whole game, even when this mod hasn't
been installed. Betas will allow the player to get paid for these
kills as well, but the v1.0 might not.
Whereas Stephen W.
Hawking says every formula in a book halves the sales, I think that
every changed original game object halves the number of compatible
mods of same target audience. I can't really tell, though, since I
haven't got any such mods installed.
I think I've heard of a
mod (or plans for one) that lets the player learn different skills
to gain new ingredients from corpses (like in Gothic I) not too long
ago - possibly here in these forums. And now that I've tried to
search for that link (and failed), I found this thread of a similar mod project, although
that is considerably larger project that BBounties.
I have no
plans of making this mod considerably more extensive than what it is
now by myself, partly because I'd rather try telling
stories.
If I hear no complaints or suggestions by the time I
wake up, I'll cross my fingers (I haven't been testing the mod
much), make some minor changes (give the temple representatives
unique names) and then upload the final mod to Summit, Gamer's Roam
and my mod pages.
And here's the updated
rewards:
Creature name & Bounty --------- Ascended
Sleeper 200 Ash Ghoul 125 Ash Slave 100 Ash Zombie
100 Blighted Alit 50 Blighted Cliff Racer 60 Blighted
Kagouti 55 Blighted Kwama Forager 15 Blighted Kwama Warrior
70 Blighted Kwama Worker 70 Blighted Nix-Hound 55 Blighted
Rat 20 Blighted Scrib 5 Blighted Shalk 35 Corprus Stalker
180 Lame Corprus 180
